We are often asked where our inspiration for a certain design comes from, so, here for example, is our Paradise bangle, designed around the bird of Paradise flower which is one of the most colorful flowers in the world. The name Bird of Paradise comes from its spectacular flower shape which resembles a bird’s beak and head plumage.
The flowers resemble a brightly colored bird in flight and so the name Birds of Paradise. In it’s native South Africa, it is commonly known as a crane flower and is featured on the reverse of the 50 cent coin. It is also the Official Flower of the City of Los Angeles and two of the species, Strelitzia nicolai and Strelitzia reginae are frequently grown as house plants.
A lovely burst of colour to remind us of warm sunny days to come!
